Position Overview:
Avolta is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Government and Public Relations Student Intern to join our team as part of a co-op program. This internship is designed for students who are passionate about government relations, public communications, and policy advocacy and are looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting. As an intern, you will work closely with our government and public relations team to support stakeholder engagement, public communications, and advocacy efforts. Please note that this is a pro bono opportunity, ideal for students seeking to gain valuable experience and co-op credit while contributing to impactful work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing public relations campaigns to enhance Avolta’s public image.
  • Collaborate with team members to engage with government stakeholders and policymakers.
  • Participate in research and analysis of public policy issues affecting the security industry.
  • Contribute to the documentation and presentation of public relations and advocacy findings and results.
  • Support the team in organizing events, meetings, and communications with stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions to share ideas and insights.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all tasks and interactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Public Relations, Political Science, Communications, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of government relations, public policy, and communications principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High level of responsibility, maturity, and a willingness to learn.
  • Must be eligible to receive co-op credit through your academic institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with public relations tools and platforms (e.g., media monitoring tools).
  • Interest in the technology, security, or automotive industries.
  • Knowledge of advocacy and lobbying strategies.
