With the chips needed for electrical vehicles (EVs) being in limited supply, manufacturers were left scrambling to find ways to get access to those chips. It seems that recently, China has been able to overcome the hurdles put in place by the global pandemic, and instead of getting the chips imported they have turned to local manufactures, as they move to have EVs and hybrids make up 20% of their annual car sales. Partnerships with Chinese based chip manufacturers are said to be in the discussion, to allow car manufacturers to load their own software onto the chip
