Finance/Fundraising Advisor

PART A. General Description

The financial department is responsible for a variety of operations including bookkeeping, working out investment strategies, tax management, financial research and analysis, fundraising, payroll (along with the HR Department), as well as offering a helpful hand to company members with any sort of financial inquiries. 

PART B. Responsibilities

As a Finance/Fundraising Company Advisor:

  • Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine the company’s financial strategy, including short-term and long-term financial goals, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis and due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, to assess their financial viability and alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Fundraising Planning: Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including debt financing, equity financing, and alternative funding sources, to support the company’s growth initiatives and capital requirements.
  • Investor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on the company’s financial performance, strategic initiatives, and growth prospects.
  • Pitch Development: Assist in preparing compelling pitch decks, financial models, and investment memorandums to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition and investment opportunity to potential investors.
  • Negotiation and Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations with investors and financial partners to secure favorable terms and conditions for financing agreements, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and minimizing financial risk.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Stay abreast of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring the company’s fundraising activities adhere to legal and regulatory standards and mitigate potential risks.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to senior management and investors, including key performance indicators, financial forecasts, and variance analysis, to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks that may impact the company’s financial stability and growth prospects, implementing appropriate risk management strategies and controls.
  • Strategic Financial Advice: Offer strategic financial advice and recommendations to senior management, board of directors, and other stakeholders on matters such as capital allocation, investment priorities, and financial optimization strategies.
  • Market Intelligence and Benchmarking: Conduct market research and benchmarking analysis to identify industry trends, competitive dynamics, and investment opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in finance, fundraising, and investment trends, and actively seek opportunities for professional development to enhance expertise and effectiveness in the role.

The compensation for this role would be pro-bono (unpaid).
